Described by the press as “a harmonic phenomenon bursting onto the scene like a firecracker” and “gorgeous, soaring, ethereal”, and by our fans as “explosive”, “a tour de force”, “ebullient”, “witty” and “sensational”, we're hugely excited to announce our first appearance at The Union Chapel.
Featuring c.50 singers all drawn from our London Collectives, and a tightly knit band, we turn the conventional approach to large-scale choral music on its head by mixing large numbers of experienced and first time voices with a fearless house band of pro and semi-pro gigging musicians.
The Unpredictable set list is just that - the gig leaps from covers of ever-original Goldfrapp to Scandinavian soundscapes by Sigur Rós, club tango from The Gotan Project to full throttle Arcade Fire, and early polyphony to crowd-pleasers Elbow & Vampire Weekend. Our aim is to get under the skin of these incredible tracks through an equal balance of multiple voices and instruments, and we've attracted some fantastic collaborators as a result - including Basement Jaxx, Boo Hewerdine, Dirty Freud and Megson.
The Union Chapel is sublime - have a look here - and we're incredibly lucky to again have Bobby Aitken, one of the world's leading sound designers, working with us and our fantastic engineer Mat Moon on sound, with specialist equipment provided by Autograph Sound.
Don’t come if you’re expecting a traditional choir. Do come if you’re looking for a visceral, challenging, and utterly euphoric night out.
