e-luminate / 12 Feb.
In 2011, we gave our first ever gig in Great St Mary's, in Cambridge. We didn't know what to expect in terms of the audience, the audience didn't quite know what to expect of us, and it was an extraordinary night as a result. Over 600 people packed inside, queueing around Market Square to get in on one of the coldest nights of the year, and then it all ended a bit like this.
It's been an incredible 5 years since that first gig. We've grown from a group of 40 to 120, collaborated with global stars Basement Jaxx, songwriter extraordinaire Boo Hewerdine, rising folk stars Megson, and the 'high wizard of electro dub' Dirty Freud, as well as perform sell out shows in some of the UK's premier music venues in Cambridge and London... and here's some of the stuff we do now.
So, on Friday 12 February - hot on the heels of our bonkers and beautiful Tattersalls 'Whisper' gig at the end of January - we're absolutely delighted to be returning to GSM as part of the launch of this year's e-Luminate festival. The gig starts at 7pm and will be over by 8pm, so perfect to get your night started on a fairly big high :)
Tickets are available now (see below). There's something about hearing the kind of music we're lucky enough to cover in such an exceptional space as this, and with the light from the e-Luminate festival behind and around us all, it's going to look gorgeous. We'll be covering tracks by artists as diverse as Benjamin Clementine, John Newman, Gregory Porter, Barns Courtney, Alabama Shakes & Alt-J - come bathe your ears and yours eyes for an hour with us.
Ticket prices include booking fee, hence the peculiar price!
